+ Movies: Inglourious Basterds – A quick review

So going to watch Inglourious Basterds 2009 wasn’t a bad decision for me although honestly I’m not that interested in the WWII stories. By far I think this is one of the best movies of Quentin Tarantino, next to Pulp Fiction, of course.

– I am actually fed up with the topic of WWII. And this movie is about WWII, killing and revenge. So the plot does not amaze me at all. However, aside from the WWII story that does not interest me, everything else in this movie is worth to watch. The interesting part is that although the movie is a small story, it is presented in the very Quentin Tarantino way. It is divided in different chapters, with gangster-like soldiers, ruthless killings and also funny parts.

– One of the best and most intriguing things about this movie is the filming technique. Besides creating full effects of graphics, lighting, colors and compositions, the filming drives people crazy with all kinds of camera angles and really good music. And that’s why it succeeds.

– All actors are just great and each of them contributes so much in the success of Inglourious Basterds. The dialogues are so interesting (still very Tarantino) that you don’t want to miss a word while you’re watching. The conflicts and tensions created by different languages, cultures, sick minds, and strategies are quite amazingly viewed and described.

Overall being a writer, Quentin Tarantino developed even better with Inglourious Basterds. However this movie can only be number 1 if there are not many people who are fed up with the topic of WWII.
